The Young Liars are indie rock band which formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2008. The lineup consisted of Rizki Aryo (vocals, guitar), Hardiantra P (bass), and UtonNawawi (drums). Hardiantra P is a new member, he’s joined in 2010 and replace the former bassist Aldino Kennedy who had left the band because of personal reasons.

Our name was inspired by an amusing conversation between Rizki Aryo and his friend who ask him about his band name. Rizki Aryo said “I’ve got brilliant idea about my band name, to remember the death of Thomas Alfa Edison i think ‘The Edison 1931’ is my band name”. And RizkiAryo’s friend said “what a such YOUNG LIAR, it’s impossible that was your idea”, then he think ‘Young Liar’ is a good name and we decide ‘The Young Liars’ is the final name

Because each of us had a different influences then makes our sounds more varied. Basically we had a lot listen to British indie rock band such as Joy Division, The Smith, The Cure, Stone Roses, Blur, The Young Knives, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys.

We began working the first EP’s, The Young Liars in early 2009. The album was recorded in Revolver Studio, Jakarta and produced by BayuRenno. Our EP was released on December 2009 and contains 3 songs:  Here Alone,  Are You Take All of Parts,  It’s The Beginning Of The End. The EP is not for sale but we give the EP for free only at the gigs. The peak is when It’s The Beginning Of The End became a Top 100 LA Indiefest 2009.
